This year we are having pick up games on Friday nights when we don’t have regularly scheduled Spring and Fall baseball. We aren’t yet sure how these will go, it all depends on you! The game will start at 6pm. If there aren’t many kids, we will run batting practice or play against staff/adults present. If there are a lot of kids we will have a regular Miracle League game. If these become really popular with a lot of kids showing up, we will discuss creating two games per week. We are just testing this out this year to try to fill the gap during the summer, so please be patient with us as we try to create more programs for everyone to enjoy!
Friday, June 28th @ 10:00am
If you don’t know this yet, Kristy has quite a passion for theatre. Locally she has worked for Civic Theatre, Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre, and Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. Kristy was able to score 50 tickets to see this year’s children’s show at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival! We can take 25 ML players and an adult to accompany each of them. This is a special “relaxed” performance. Their brochure says: A relaxed performance is a sensory-friendly show which creates a judgement-free and inclusive environment for patrons with a wide range of sensory and communication differences, including individuals on the autism spectrum, young children, and families who would benefit from a relaxed theater-going experience. This was one of my favorite activities from last year and I’m so happy that we can provide this event at no cost to our ML families again this year!
Tuesday, July 2nd @ 6:00pm
MOVIE BEING SHOWN: Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2 (Rated PG)
Join us for a family friendly movie night at the field. The movie will be shown on the scoreboard so bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Popcorn and Kool-Aid Jammers will be provided. Candy and other soft drinks will be available for purchase. Family members are welcome.
Sunday, July 7th: First ML game @ 10:45am. Second ML game @ 1:15pm
Join us for a celebration of other cultures as 100 visitors to Lehigh University’s Global Village program come to our field. There will be a flag parade in the traditional clothing of each country to start each game. We will be playing two ML All Star games with Global Villagers as our angels in the outfield. These games will be a mix of all our ML teams. Games will last an hour and a half. Lunch is being catered by the fabulous Keyla of Chillin’ Snacking. We will have plates of chicken, vegetable rice, and green salad available for a small donation. Lunch available from 12-1:30.
Saturday, July 27th from 10:00am-2:00pm
We want to celebrate 13 years of our amazing Miracle League family by throwing a big summer carnival! We just want to thank everyone for being here and supporting our league and the little family that it’s turned into. This will be our first year attempting this event, but it’s shaping up to be quite spectacular. Stay tuned for more information, but we are anticipating CARNIVAL GAMES with PRIZES, t-shirt sales with a TIE DYE station, a DUNK TANK, MOON BOUNCE ,and more! Not part of the Miracle League but still want to come to the carnival? A donation of $10 per family is suggested! Also,we need your help to make this successful! We are looking for companies/church groups/teams/etc to set up booths with carnival games at the event. If you are part of a group or know a group that might be interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more Sponsorship/Vendor information!
Wednesday, July 31st @ 2:00pm
Kristy was able to score 50 tickets to see Shakespeare for Kids at PSF! We can take 25 ML players and an adult to accompany each of them. The show was really funny last year. There were puppets and sing-alongs! It is a great show, even if you’re initially intimidated by the thought of Shakespeare, it’s just a fun show for the whole family!
