Give Away Days Come out and play a pick up game and receive some great items to be given to Miracle League Children. Miracle League is over stocked and wants to give the children some extra goodies. 15 spaces available for sign up for each game. Saturday, 8/7 2:00pm - Retired Miracle League Jersey Give Away Awards and Photo Week As listed on your schedule, the week of August 3, 2010 is awards week. Each child will receive a trophy for the great job they did this year. There is no sign up for this event, just come to your regularly scheduled game and enjoy. Also, Pittman Photography will be at the field to take your Miracle League Child's annual photo. They have great packages for you to purchase. Picture Package information will be at the concession stand for you to review and come prepared for picture day. The children wear their regular uniform and come with their best smile. Even if you do not plan to purchase a package, they will still take the photo for two reasons, 1. If you decide to purchase later. 2. So that the team picture is complete. We will also have a congratulations cake for the children to enjoy after the game/awards ceremonies. Have a great time!!!!!
Make up day for Awards and Photo's is August 14, 2010 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. The format will be the same as the other games, the only difference is there will not be a team picture for those who could not make their regular game. If there is a rain out for a game this will be the make up game and there will be a team picture for that team.
Picture Pick Up You will be able to come to the Park on either Saturday the 21st from 11:00am to 2:00pm or August or Tuesday the 31st of August from 5:30pm to 7:00pm to pick up your child’s photos. You will also be offered a flat rate shipping fee from Pittman Photography to have the photo's shipped right to your house. Miracle League is not able to ship the photo’s to your house. You must pick up at the park. If you are not available for pick up during the designated time then you can pick up at the park during the fall season which schedule will be posted on the web in mid August.
Fall Season Miracle League goes on break the last two weeks of August and then returns for the fall season on September 4th through October 10th. Since many children are not able to play we combine the teams. You will be on the same team as you currently are, however, you will partner with another team to make sure the number of children playing per game is 10 to 12 children per game. You are automatically registered for the fall season. If you do not plan to return for the fall, please let your coach know and they will notify Melissa. During the fall season we play weekends only. Even if you do not play in the fall you will still be included to attend all of our activities through next years start of the Miracle League Season (April 2011), at which point you will have to register for the 2011 season to be included for the next year. Registration for 2011 will start in January 2011.
Miracle League Gala Every year the Miracle League holds a major fundraiser to raise 50% or more of the Miracle League financial needs for the year. This year our Gala is on September 30, 2010. You are able to download a brochure from the Miracle League web site which contains gala pricing information for those who are interested or know someone who is. Just click on Donate tab on the left hand panel. There are a few ways you can become involved in the process. Auction Baskets/Donations Each year the Miracle League Gala includes a silent auction in the program. We include many items that have been donated through various sources, including Miracle League parents. We are starting the collection process. We will be taking collection at the concession stand of family night board games, Tea and Coffee. To form three different baskets which will be auctioned off. We can only take unopened and unused items. If you would like to help our cause, you can drop any of the above-mentioned items off at the concession stand from now until the end of the summer season, which is until August 15th. If you are donating tea or coffee please take note of the expiration date to be sure a September 30th sale is appropriate. If easier you may also contribute gift cards to various stores, such as Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Giant, Target, Walmart etc. We will be able to purchase the item closer to the event. Whichever is easier or is most comfortable/convenient for you. Thank you so much for all your support. At this auction we make available everything from restaurant gift cards to major vacation trips. If you are aware of anyone who maybe interested in donating such things please let Melissa Kocsis or Samantha Buker know and we will begin to coordinate the donation. We will also inform you in early September of additional craft projects the children can participate, we auction these items off through a live auction process at the Gala. Table Donations Each year some of our donors cannot fill all the seats or the tables they purchase and donate them to be filled by the Miracle League Families and Volunteers. We anticipate filling five tables this year. Two tables will be designated for volunteers who have completed 250+ hours of service to the program in 2010. Three tables will be donated to families through a lottery system. If you would like to be apart of this lottery system to attend the September 30th Gala feel free to email Melissa at Melissa@miracleleaguelv.org starting September 1st and you will be included and notified prior to the event. A reminder will be sent out with specifics closer to September.
Holiday Party Gift Idea Collection Each year the Miracle League hosts a massive Holiday Party for the Miracle League children and their siblings. In the past we have sent out invitations one month prior to the event. We are shooting for a mid November date, however, we are still working on this. The Miracle League works to have your children's gifts donated each year. This year since out Gala is within a month from our planned Holiday Party, we are looking to make that request at the Gala. So we need your gift requests prior to the Gala and without knowing the event date. This is how it will work. You can fill out a 3x5 card at the concession stand starting this weekend the 24th of July and until the end of the summer season. On the 3x5 card you will write the children's name, their team, your phone number and address and under the child's name their three gift choices each in the $20 dollar and below range. If you are not able to attend the Holiday party when date and time is established, we will discard the request, but this way we have the request well in advance for planning and donation purposes. These instructions will also be posted at the park this weekend. Miracle League Halloween Event is Scheduled For October 20, 2010.Player Registration for 2010.
