The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley was founded
in 2006, dedicated to providing children with special needs and other
developmental disabilities an opportunity to play baseball.
The $1.5 million facility was completed for $750,000 and well ahead of
schedule. While contributions are still necessary and welcomed, this demonstrates
the great outpouring of generosity from those involved in the construction
of Fowler Field. It occupies approximately 5 acres of land in scenic Heidelberg
Township, Pennsylvania.
Opening ceremonies were held on July 27, 2006. Despite rain and thunderstorms,
the great players and adoring fans were not deterred! Special guests included
State Senators Pat Browne & James Rhoades, and the Philly Phanatic.
The state-of-the-art field is located on 5858 Sell Road,
Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. It is in Heidelberg Township, along Rte.
309 N, approximately 9 miles from Route 22.
To protect our very special players, the field itself is composed of Mondo
Super X Performance turf. This is the same rubber surface material used
for track events at the Olympic Games.
